Situated in the pictureque village of Medstead which offers a range of amenities including a general store, post office, hardware store, health services and St Andrew’s Church, together with a traditional country pub, the Castle of Comfort. The village also offers a good choice of excellent nursery, primary and second schools within the local area.
Although the local area has a wide array of local shops, the 'shopaholics' of you need look no further than Festival Place in Basingstoke and West Quay in Southampton and with Winchester only 12 miles away, all offering amaziing shopping facilities and a wide cosmopolitan range of cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs for you to rest your weary feet!
In addition, there are some excellent sporting facilities available for a small village, including a tennis club, bowling club and a prominent equestrian presence in the village with many riding schools and private paddocks.

Nearby local attraction is the carefully preserved Mid-Hants Steam Railway, also called the Watercress Line, taking its name from the days when freshly picked watercress was carried by train to be sold at the London markets. Medstead & Four Marks station was opened in 1868 and is today the popular Watercress Line that operates between Alton and Alresford. The section of line between Medstead and Four Marks is affectionately known as 'The Alps' due to its steep gradients. Indeed, Medstead, at over 700ft above sea level, is one of the highest villages in Hampshire.
Hampshire is Jane Austen country and is steeped in her history. Her house, now a museum can be visited in Chawton (link), one of the many beautiful villages in the area. A haven for walkers, cyclists and golfers alike, this area of Hampshire offers the perfect place in which to settle – in serene and gentle surroundings.
Transport links to the M3 and other main road routes are easily accesible, offering a direct route to both London and the South West, Southampton Eastleigh International Airport is just 18 miles away and the Red Funnel Ferry Terminal in the world class port of Southampton approximately 17 miles distant. There are regular commuter services to London with main line trains from Alton to London Waterloo - journey times taking on average 1 hour 10 minutes.
